I am afraid what the Main Stream Press is doing should frighten each and every American. This is not an issue over who won the election. This affects supporters of either Obama or Romney.
The Press has a primary responsibility to tell the truth and inform the American public in a timely manner. Unfortunately this is not happening. The Press is selecting which story to tell and when. Please understand I am not talking about Opinion shows that pay their hosts to explain the news in whatever slant either Liberal or Conservative. I am talking about hard news shows. The examples I am about to give are the way these stations protected the President in the re- election. It has nothing to do with the candidates but has everything to do with the Press not following their responsibility to inform in a timely manner and to tell the truth regardless who it affects.
My first example is ABC News and their coverage of Bengasi and the Death of our Ambassador. For the last 6 weeks there has been a controversy over our Governments failure to help the four men who were under assault for over 7 hours and pleaded for help. Our government had drones overhead and watched the events unfold in real time. We had forces within 1-2 hours time that could have helped. Many questions have risen as to what the Administration knew and when. The explanations are contradictory. After the election was the first time ABC news paid any attention to the story. Today they are even playing Republican criticisms of how the Administration handled the affair.
Another example occurred at CBS News. As the above story unfolded, there were questions when President Obama called it a terrorist attack. The President stated he knew and called it a terrorist attack from the 1st day. CBS news has an interview with the President the next day. In that interview he stated he was not sure if it was a terrorist attack or a just the result of a mob action. They released the interview minus that statement.
Before you believe this is an anti- Obama story, I assure you it is not. Should the press have the ability to ignore stories because it affects a candidate they like? Should they be allowed to keep information from their viewers that might hurt a candidate they favor? If they can do it for one candidate they can do it for anyone. That is dangerous regardless of the candidate.
I believe it is up to the American people to decide what is important to them and what is not. The Press should not be making those decisions for us. We are a free and educated people that can decide for ourselves. How do we get those large corporations to listen? Easy, viewers equal money. Write them and tell them unless they report the news fairly, timely and completely you will take your business elsewhere. THEN DO IT!!!!
