We are cutting back on spending and our government says there is no way to cut spending without hurting the common person. Yet CBS news affiliate in Washing DC has released interesting information on what our Ex-Presidents make on the taxpayers dime. The ex- Presidents Act was put together to assist former presidents in their expenses. It provides for a $200,000 annual pension, $96,000 for an office staff, staff benefits and $60,000 annually for travel expenses. In addition, Secret Service coverage for the Ex- Presidents their wives and children are not covered in this report as they come out of a separate budget. This law covers costs of office rent, office expenses such as telephones, supplies, cleaning and stamps etc.
